I designed a coin holder that would allow you to comfortably hold 50 Pennies, 40 Nickels, 50 Dimes, and 40 Quarters.
Once I designed the coin holder I exported it as a STL file and opened it in makerbot and scaled it to 1000%. After that I rotated the coin holder so it was standing up straight so the 3D printer could print it. Below are the steps to printing the design. After placing the flashdrive in I click my file, select the coin holder, and click print.
Summary: I learned a lot using the 3D Printer this time around. I learned how to change the filament. I learned that you have to use a .stl file for the printer to be able to print it. I don't think I learned a lot of stuff that I can put into words, but I think I understand how this machine works a lot more than when I started and my I'm a lot more comfortable using the machine.
